FAQ

  • What are your rates and payment options?
Rates for therapy and coaching can be found HERE.
  • Do you bill insurance?
I currently accept SelectHealth, United Healthcare, EMI, Aetna, Cigna, and Optum insurance. I also have many private pay clients. In those cases, I am happy to provide a Statement of Payment or Superbill that you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. HERE is a helpful article on how to use a Superbill for insurance reimbursement.
  • How long are therapy sessions?
    Therapy sessions are 50 minutes.
  • Do you offer online appointments?
Yes! Both in-person, and virtual visits are available. During COVID, most clients discovered that teleconference sessions were just as effective as in-person sessions. Online visits make therapy more accessible because you don't need to leave work or home to travel to an office. Online appointments allow you to work with me, no matter where you live.
  • What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Check out THIS article for a great explanation of the difference between therapy and coaching. Therapy is limited to residents of Utah and Nevada. I will occasionally have openings for coaching. In those situations, you can work with me, no matter where you live.
  • I've never worked with a therapist before. What should I expect?
I understand how much courage and vulnerability it takes to reach out for help. I'm proud of you taking that step toward healing. We'll talk about your primary concerns, your goals, and what you want to get out of our work together. In order to make a plan for our work together, I'll ask about your background, current living situation, and relationships. I think you'll find a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable to talk about whatever is on your mind. Sometimes, counseling in the movies looks like someone lying on a couch while the therapist asks "How does that make you feel?" This is NOT what our time together will look like. Think of our visit more like a problem-solving workshop.
  • What benefits would I get from working with you?
When you're feeling stuck or going through a dark time, getting an outside perspective is incredibly helpful. Immense growth can come through challenging old beliefs and thinking patterns. I have been in the social work field for two decades, and bring a wealth of experience in helping people find healing and happiness. I want to teach coping skills, and help overcome fears and insecurities. I want to help you build trauma into post-traumatic growth.
